Program Philosophy
Developed in conjunction with Ontario curriculum expectations, our programs delve into military communications history, offering a uniquely Canadian perspective of our nation's past, and afford students hands-on, experiential learning opportunities.
On-site Programming
Canada and the First World War: A Changing Nation, A Changing World - This program explores Canada 's involvement in this conflict, and the phenomenal technological innovation & development during its 4-year period. Students will have a "hands-on" opportunity to learn and practice communication techniques employed by the Canadian military of this era. Includes : a virtual presentation of 1 st World War images & facts; guided tour of 1 st World War galleries; Semaphore & Heliograph training

Canada and the Second World War: The Science of Secrecy - This program examines Canada 's contribution to one particular aspect of the Second World War: clandestine communications. Explore the world of code-makers, code-breakers, & detection technology. Includes: virtual presentation of 2 nd World War images & facts; guided tour of the 2 nd World war galleries; and, clandestine communications training (interactive).

Canada and the World: In the Service of Peace - This program explores Canada 's involvement with the United Nations, Peace-making, and Peacekeeping.

General Museum Package - This program provides a general overview of Canadian military and communications history from its inception to the present. Options Include : Guided or Independent Tour of Museum Galleries; Museum History Hunt (independent activity); as well as the interactive Artifact Exploration Centre. You choose which elements are appropriate for your students.
