GOOSE AIR DEFENSE SECTOR

The emblem is symbolic of the Sector and its mission. The goose, used as a “watchdog” in many countries for hundreds of years, is symbolic of the watchfulness of the Goose Air Defense Sector, which is always vigilant against intruders. The alert stance of the goose over the radomes indicates that the radar stations in conjunction with the fighter aircraft are a vital part of the alert system. The radomes designate the stations under the Sector and show their direct responsibility to alert and Command Post. The aircraft indicate vigilance and ability not only to strike in case of aggression but also to prevent aggression by readiness. The entire emblem bears the Air Force colors, ultramarine blue and golden yellow, and indicates the elaborate system for alerting and defending the North.
