Revised Beneficial Occupancy Dates
Gap Filler Radar Stations, Various

Further to our Min (3) of 14 Sep 62 on file S949-105 TD 2240 (CCE) to COR, revised beneficial occupancy dates for the various Gap Filler Radar Stations have been prepared and are based on the latest information available to this office. The BODs for individual stations are listed on the attached Appendix. The notes at the bottom of the Appendix are repeated in this memo in order to emphasize the conditions under which the BODs have been prepared.

  1. BODs are predicated on receiving programme approval by 1 Dec 62.
  2. BODs are predicated on receiving financial approval by 1 Feb 63.
  3. BODs are predicated on DCL awarding fourty-five (45) contracts within two (2) months (Mar & Apr 63).

It is to be noted that the BODs have been grouped at five (5) stations per month between Jul 63 and Jul 64, excluding Jan to Apr 64. The actual order of the five stations in any month will vary depending upon contractual problems and site conditions and an individual station may advance or slip into the next earlier or later month. These BODs will be confirmed again about 15 Nov 62 when all reports have been received as to work to be completed on individual stations.

BODs for commercial power are also listed on the attached Appendix. As contractual action is not possible until financial approval is received, it is estimated that it will take a minimum of six (6) months for negotiations, purchase of materials and installation. This will mean that for the first fifteen (15) stations, the BODs for commercial power will lag behind the BODs for the buildings but it is to be noted that these are 100% completion dates and the beginning of the power line will be completed one to two months earlier.
