In accordance with Item 10 of Minutes of CCE Staff Meeting No 120 held on 14 Feb 63, and further to present arrangements with ADC, it is requested that ADC be responsible for care and custody of the buildings and services, as presently constructed, and minimun maintenance of access roads at the following Gap Filler Radar Stations:

At Atikokan, Belleterre, Biscotasing, Elliot Lake, Oba, Timmins and Todd Mtn forestry towers are being operated by Dept of Lands & Forests, Forest Protective Associations or paper companies. At Atikokan a Joint Radar & Forestry Tower has been erected but has no electrical power and will be used by Dept of Lands & Forests as their tower has been dismantled. CCE/Prop has been asked to request the above agencies to accept temporary responsibility for the maintenance of the access roads as required by them and temporary responsibility for the outward care and custody of the buildings and services while their personnel are on the sites. This arrangement will not eliminate inspection trips by ADC but should protect us against indiscriminate damage to the installations.

The location of and means of access to these stations can be obtained from the following General Site Plans, which have been issued to ADC but additional copies may be obtained on request:

It is requested that an inspection report be submitted by ADC after every visit to a station, reporting any deterioration or damage done to the buildings and services, recommending emergency repairs, long term maintenance or design changes. It is also requested that inspection reports be submitted on the condition of the access roads, particularly in the spring, recommending repairs to critical sections or design changes. It is recommended that no maintenance be done to the access roads other than maintaining them in a passable condition.
