Dear Sir:

Re: Proposed Gap Filler Sites
Eastern Canada - Your File:
S10-136-80/5 Vol 2 (CCE/Prop)

Further to our letter of August 1st, the Abitibi Power and Paper Company holds a timber concession in Jamieson Township through which your access road will be constructed. We were accordingly required to negotiate with the company for a release of their timber rights and have now been informed of the conditions by which your Department must comply in cutting timber in this area, as outlined in the attached letter dated July 21st, 1961 received from the said Company.

We wish to point out that you indicated earlier this year that you were quite prepared to reimburse Paper Companies for all charges levied in areas where timber had been removed in the interest of installing your projects.

We presume your approval will be given in this instance and would appreciate receiving confirmation thereto.

Yours truly,

JR Baldwin,
Deputy Minister
