Arrangements for Care & Custody
Gap Filler Radar Stations, Various

As a result of the austerity programme, the construction of the Gap Filler Radar Stations is being terminated. Twenty five stations will have been completed to various stages, whereas twenty stations have no contractual action taken. Of the twenty five stations, ten stations will be approximately 95% completed, seven stations will be approximately 50% completed and eight stations will be approximately 10% completed. Attached are copies of a letter to DCL and appendices "A", "B", and "C" on S10-136-80/5 (DM) of 20 Aug, which outlines in general the status of the stations listed on each appendix.

It is requested that arrangements be made for care and custody of the various stations as they are taken over by DCL 51s. The DCL 51s in this case will list work completed, work not completed, material stored on site and material stored at some other RCAF station. Copies of DCL 51s will be passed to your Directorate on take-over of individual sites.

It is anticipated that some stations will be taken over during Sep 62 and all take-overs will be completed by the end of Oct 62.
