YOUR LPP 59-100, 7 OCT 59. THIS MESSAGE IN THREE PARTS.

PART I. REQUIREMENT FOR APPROXIMATELY TWENTY GAP FILLERS IN CANADIAN WESTERN PLAINS AREA WAS ESTABLISHD IN FEB 59. THESE GAP FILLERS AUGMENT STATIONS C-49 AND C-51 THROUGH C-54. THEY ARE NEEDED TO PROVIDE LOW LEVEL COVERAGE IN THE AREA FOR USE WITH BOMARC B PROGRAMMED SOUTH OF THE US-CANADIAN BORDER

PART II. THE MAD PLAN WAS FORMULATED SUBSEQUENT TO PLANNING ACTION OUTLINED IN PART I. THIS PLAN INCORPORATED THE TWENTY WESTERN PLAINS GAP FILLERS AND THOSE RADAR FACILITIES PERTAINING TO CADIN. RCAF HAS THE PRIMARY SITING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE TWENTY GAP FILLERS AND SURVEYING WILL BEGIN ABOUT 15 OCT 59.

PART III. EXTENT OF YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE WESTERN PLAINS GAP FILLER PROGRAM WILL BE TO REVIEW AND MAKE COMMENTS RELATIVE TO SITING REPORTS. INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING YOUR ACTIVITY IN FUTURE MAD PLAN SURVEYING WILL BE GIVEN AT A LATER DATE.
