Siting of Des Joachims Gap Filler Radar
The problem of radar coverage in the area mentioned in your letter, file BM45-1-22 and M45-1-66 dated 13 August 1959 has been studied by this Headquarters, and it has been agreed that a slight coverage reduction in the direction of your radio observatory site is possible.
Consequently, your proposal will be borne in mind when the siting party, now in the field, carries out its survey at Des Joachims and selects a tentative site.
Please feel free to discuss this matter with Mr Timmer's group so that a final siting, acceptable to all, can be satisfactorily determined.
