Room 446, 1 Front Steet West,
TORONTO 1, Ontario.

Dear Sir:

Re: Department of National Defence
Requirements - Gold Rock, Ontario -
Survey Portion of District of Kenora,
South of Dryden.

I acknowledge your letter of August 28th requesting our co-operation in the survey you are having carried out by Consulting Engineers in connection with the selection of a site for a National Defence project in an area to the south of our timber limits.

In this connection our Company wish to co-operate with your Department and this letter grants permission for survey crews of your Consulting Engineers and necessary Department personnel to carry out a road survey on our limits from Camp 61 south to the boundary of our limits a distance of approximately two miles, subject to a work permit being obtained by your Department from the Ontario Department of Lands and Forests and also subject to your Department accepting full responsibility for any fires attributable to this operation.

If is is decided to proceed with the building of a road a further agreement should be made to cover the used of the Company's access road and the road building operation.

Will you please have your representative contact our Woods Manager, Mr KK Nielson, on their arrival in order that any necessary travel permits or other arrangements may be discussed at that time.

Yours very truly,
