C&E Technical Implementation Group - Agenda

Agenda items for the meeting of 14 Nov 60 are submitted as follows:

  1. RCAF adaptation of FPS-7, FPS-26 and FPS-27 tower designs to Canadian Standards - procedures for arranging for GEEIA concurrence.

  2. Scale of UFA-35 Consoles at CADIN sites - 4602nd message E-6219 recommends reduction from 5 to 4.

  3. Requirements for the video enhancer GLA-8, provision by GEEIA of complete details such as weight, size, power and voltage.

  4. Equipment configuration in the FPS-27 tower - arrangements for supply of information.

  5. SAGE Annex - Concurrence of GEEIA of the Stage I and Stage III building design.

  6. DMCC & SAHF
    1. presentation of RCAF-approved preliminary equipment layouts.

    2. presentation of GEEIA standard equipment layuts.

  7. RCAF Standard GATR Building - GEEIA concurrence.

  8. Removal of antenna poles at sites where the GATR building is being located at an existing Tx or Rx site - C7, C15, C20, C21, C34 and C36.

  9. Detailed power, building and equipment requirements for the Gap-Filler Radar - App "A" itemizes typical queries that require resolution

RCAF/CCE personnel have requested that GEEIA Gap Filler personnel be made available for detailed consultation on 15 Nov 60. This Headquarters feels that personal discussion between GEEIA and RCAF/CCE design personnel is required in order that errors and engineering changes may be kept to a minimum.

  1. What is the maximum floor loading and the design floor loading for the Gap Filler Building?

  2. What is the maximum weight per foot of the combined cable and cable troughing?

  3. Will the equipment be duplex or simplex?

  4. What is the heat dissipation, power and voltage requirements for each item of equipment?

  5. Will the heat exchanger remain the same size and will it be part of the electronic equipment, ie, (GFE)?

  6. Will the air intake louvers remain the same size and will they be part of the building, ie, (supplied by RCAF)?

  7. Confirm that the RCAF provide the diesel generators and control equipment for the generators.

  8. Clarify the distinction between reliable and non-reliable power and the requirements for one, two and three generators.

  9. Discuss the possibility of having the towers erected while heavy construction equipment is still on site.

  10. What are the communications requirements at sites with and without forestry facilities?
