Re: Reconnaissance Reports, AFHQ Job Nos 5048, 5051
Gap Filler Radar Stations, Southern Ontario

Dear Sirs:

With reference to your two letters dated 2 October 1959, regarding AFHQ Job No 5048 and 5051, it is requested that you explain, before completing your Field Survey Reports for those projects, your recommendations for water supply (including well, pump and supply line), which are estimated at figures considerably higher than all other projects.

In general, fresh water will only be provided in the building if a shallow well can be dug or drilled within 100 to 200 feet of the buildings. In all other cases, fresh water will be trucked in small quantities as required from the nearest well, lake or river, in addition stored water will be maintained beneath the buildings being supplied by truck or rainwater.

Yours truly,

(JW Griffith)
Group Captain
for Chief of the Air Staff.
