Re: Forestry Towers and Access Roads
Deferred Gap Filler Programme

Dear Sir:

Please refer to your letter of May 13th, 1963, in which you suggest that if a gate and fence were erected in conjunction with the Belleterre site, the location of the key in some convenient office in Belleterre or Villemarie should be made known to your personnel.

We passed this information along to our Regional Manager of Real Estate with instructions that he obtain the views of the Ottawa River Forest Protective Association on this proposal. The said Association has concurred in the erection of a gate to control to some extent the use of the road but they would like to have a key for their own use to avoid trips to either Villemarie or Belleterre each time they wish to use the road.

As this matter would appear to be more efficiently settled between your local Command and the Association insofar as the distribution of keys is concerned, we suggest that you deal directly with the Ottawa River Forest Protective Association Limited. However, if there is anything further you wish this Department to undertake on your behalf insofar as the suggestion of the Association is concerned, please advise.

Yours truly,

JR Baldwin,
Deputy Minster
