Gap Filler Radar Stations, Various
Attached is a summary of the status of the construction or plans and specifications for the various Gap Filler Radar Stations.
The first group are approximately 95% completed. No work is required from the Road Section and the Specifications Section as it is now proposed that CEU or other RCAF units will complete the outstanding work.
The second group are approximately 50-75% completed. Design work is required from the Road Section for La Tuque and from the Specifications Section for four stations.
The third group are approximately 10-25% completed. Design work is required from the Road Section for Batchawana and from the Specifications Section for four stations.
The fourth group were issued to DCL but no contracts were awarded. Plans and specifications should be reviewed when long access roads are involved and plans and specifications revised as necessary .
The fifth group have not been issued to DCL. The Road Section has been working on the new plans and specifications for the past two or three months. In order for the Specifications Section to maintain a uniform work load for these projects, it is requested that the new plans and specifications be passed to this Directorate at the rate of two per week, completing all of this group by 31 Mar.
It is requested that the balance of the work required from the Road Section be completed by 30 Apr.
