Removal and Replacement of Forestry Towers
Referring to previous correspondence concerning the subject requirement, enclosed for your information is copy of a letter dated July 6th, 1961 received from the Ontario Department of Lands and Forests from which you will note that approval is given your Department to replace the present fire lookout towers at six Gap Filler Sites in the Province of Ontario
In the event the new towers are no longer required for Defence purposes they will be allowed to remain standing in their present locations and be used for fire lookout purposes.
