Re: General Revisions to Drawings & Specifications
Gap Filler Radar Stations

Dear Sirs:

As the result of various queries from your office during the issue of the first twenty (20) Gap Filler Radar Stations, a complete review has been made of the standard drawings and specifications. General revisions have been made to the standard drawings and specifications and will be effective with the issue of the second group of twenty-four (24) stations.

In order that the same revisions be effective on the contracts awarded or about to be awarded, the general revisions to the drawings have been shown on two sketch sheets, Orientation of Towers, 13 February 1962 and Revisions to Grounding, 14 February 1962. The general revisions to the specifications have been summarized for ease of cross-reference to the original specifications.

Eighty (80) copies of the above noted sketch sheets, summary of revisions and revised pages of the specifications are enclosed for issue to the General Contractors and your personnel.

Most of these revisions have been for the purpose of clarification with the odd reduction in original requirements (particularly with reference to grounding).

It is requested that your Project Engineers be instructed to carry out the intent of these revisions (if the work has not already been done), as "On Site Design Changes", which should be possible without additional expense.

It is also requested that all "On Site Design Changes" be submitted for the approval of the AFHQ Project Officer.

Yours truly,

(JW Griffith)
for Chief of the Air Staff
