Ottawa, April 12th, 1962

Dear Sir:

Re: Gap Filler Radar Stations - Beaver Tower, PQ - L'Anse St Jean
L'Ascension - Nishkotea Lake - St Hedwidge - Squatteck -
Your Files: 10-B50 (CCE/Prop) - 10-L38 (CCE/Prop) - 10-L39 (CCE/Prop)
10-N24 (CCE/Prop) - 10-S116 (CCE/Prop) - 10-S114 (CCE/Prop)

Reference is made to previous correspondence concerning the acquisition of lands required for the construction of Gap Filler Radar Stations in Eastern Canada.

As you know, the subject sites are located on Provincially-owned land and a request was accordingly placed before the Province of Quebec to have the property reserved in favour of your Department. It is understood the Provincial Order-in-Council will be issued as soon as we furnish a legal plan and description which has to be prepared by a qualified Quebec Land Surveyor.

Enclosed for your information is copy of a letter dated March 23rd, 1962 received from JP Giroux, Assistant Deputy Minister for the Quebec Department of Lands and Forests, concerning our request for the Provincial lands, which is self-explanatory.

In connection with the St Hedwidge site, a Timber Permit will have to be obtained from the Department's Forestry Division.

You will note that for administrative purposes the Province has requested that they be furnished with additional copies of your Drawings pertaining to the subject requirements. With the exception of Plan S116-1-1000-1, will you kindly arrange to furnish us with the required copies in order that they might be passed to the Quebec Department of Lands and Forests.

Yours truly,

JR Baldwin
Deputy Minister
