Re: Timber Cutting Permits
Gap Filler Radar Stations General

Dear Sir:

It is requested that you bring to the attention of all present and future general contractors on Gap Filler Radar Stations that where Crown Land is subject to timber licences, cutting permits must be obtained from the Provincial Department of Lands and Forests before clearing operations commence. In addition the general contractors should contact the company holding the timber license and/or protective association operating in that area to arrange for the disposal of merchantable timber and to agree to the rules and regulations which must be adhered to during clearing operations.

In order to complete our negotiations with the owners and/or timber license holders, it is requested that each general contractor be asked to report which owner or company he contacted and what arrangements were made for the disposal of merchantable timber.

Yours truly,

(MC Hyslop)
Wing Commander
for Chief of the Air Staff
