Attached is a letter 36-00-07 (SACO) 14 Nov 62 in reply to our letter 1004S-3 (EG/MSE) 15 Oct 62 where we ask 5SD to check and bring prefabricated ARMCO Steelox components on charge.

This letter is to bring to your attention the shortages which were discovered and for corrective action by your headquarters.

Regarding paragraph 4 of same letter, it is assumed that the fencing and culverts being held at the depot are part of the Gap Filler Materiel. It is requested that a detailed checking list of this material be forwarded this Headquarters and we will allot a section and reference number under which to hold this material. If this material if assocated with the diesel generating set for St Josephs it will be grouped and held under one section and reference number pending reissue. Could you advise us on this matter.

It is requested that in future if material is to be shipped to a supply depot for storage, that the following procedure be followed:

  1. AFHQ advise AMCHQ attention EG/MSE-4 detailing the material to be shipped. The location of the material and where it is to be stored.

  2. AMCHQ will then allot section and reference numbers to the material and advise the unit to ship.

  3. AMCHQ will advise the Supply Depot of the shipment and what section and reference to hold the material under.

By using the above procedure the material may be brought on charge and controlled by AMC.

May we be advised if the diesel generating set was inhibited prior to shipping, or is this considered necessary.
