Land Acquisition
Gap Filler Radar Station Timmins, Ont

The a/n Gap Filler Radar Station has been approved by TB Minute 566358 or 569202 of 29 Sep 60. The field survey work has been completed and the final design work is proceeding toward summer construction during 1961.

It is requested that land acquisition and easement be obtained in accordance with the details listed on the attached Appendix.

The property plan shows a minimum distance of 5 feet between the property line and the fence line and also a 350 radius clearing line for fire protection.

The location plan shows the access road, but details of its location will not be available until final road drawings have been received.

This station will require land acquisition of the site and an easement for both the new portion and the improvement portion of the access road, also for the clearing area. The right-of-way will not be fenced. The timber cut during clearing operations will be stock-piled on the site for the owner or disposed of by our contractors depending on the owner's wishes, which should be determined by DOT.

DOT is also requested to obtain a proposal from the Forestry Authorities for the removal of their tower on completion of our construction and for the use of our tower or the re-erection of their tower in the advent that the site is abandoned. The forestry personnel will naturally have access to the site and the tower but not to our buildings as the accommodation being provided is limited.

Six prints of Drawing No T53-1-1000-1 Rev 0 and T53-1-1001-1 Rev 1 are enclosed.
