Reference is made to AMTS memorandum S10-136-80/5 TD 0263 dated 17 Nov with regard to changes in various gap filler locations, a copy of which is attached for your information.

The DND approved consultant funds in the amount of $346,472 to cover site survey, preparation of preliminary plans and specifications for the 45 gap filler sites reflected in the CADIN document. Approximately $90,000 has been spent to date in engineering of the 24 sites which are to be relocated. To support the engineering of the new sites CCE must seek departmental approval of additional funds in a similar amount. It is appreciated that considerable support must be provided to obtain such approval. Therefore, it is requested that the following information be provided as soon as possible:

  1. The criteria which resulted in the location of the 45 gap fillers as contained in the CADIN document.

  2. The changes in criteria which necessitates relocation of 24 of the installations.

  3. Any additional support which may be of assistance in obtaining departmental approval of the additional funds.

In consideration of the CASs desire that the entire schedule be accelerated if at all possible, (see para 2(d) of the attached memo) it would be appreciated if this request was treated as urgent.
