Dear Sir:

Re: Termination of Construction
Gap Filler Radar Stations - Various

Further to our letter on file 10-10-62 TD2213 (DM) of 1 August 1962 and the discussion held at a meeting in the office of Mr LD Briden on 7 August, it is requested that the contracts for the construction of the various Gap Filler Radar Stations be terminated under the conditions listed in the attached appendices.

The conditions listed are to act as a general guide in terminating the contracts at the most economical stage but at the same time completing individual items which have been started and where material and/or equipment is on the site. This, however, would not apply to road work where unit prices are involved.

It is to be a general policy that where material and/or equipment has been shipped to the site or on order, which might be considered of a special type for these jobs and where cancellation charges will be high, consideration will be given to storing this material and/or equipment on receipt of full details from your office.

For convenience these decisions have been embodied in one letter, but it is requested that further correspondence on termination of these contracts be done on a site by site basis.

Yours truly,

(EB Armstrong)
Deputy Minister
