Dear Sir:

By Order in Council 698-57 - 10 October 1957. the Crown in the right of Newfoundland transferred to the Crown in the right of Canada the administration, management and control of some pieces of land at Fox Harbour in the District of Labrador South to be used in connection with the Mid-Canada Line.

The Order-in-Council specified that in the event that the lands ceased to be used for the purpose for which they were transferred they were to revert to the Crown in the right of Newfoundland.

This office has been advised that the lands are not now being used for the purpose for which they were transferred. If this is indeed the case will you please take the necessary steps to have the reversion of the lands confirmed from the Crown in the right of Canada to the Crown in the right of Newfoundland.

Yours very truly,

(F Gover, P Eng)
Deputy Minster of Mines.
