Dear Sirs:

Re: Gap Filler Radar Station,
ATIKOKAN, Ont

This letter will confirm the verbal advice of our Project Supervisor, Mr GW Slee, to the effect that we have been advised by the Department of National Defence to stop all work on the current Gap Filler Program, including the above noted project.

This work stoppage, of course, is to be carried out as economically as possible. We, therefore, with regret, instruct you to cease all construction operations on the referenced job with the exception of the following cleanup tasks.

  1. Complete installation of Steelox walls and roof on Power & Accommodation Building and Radar Building.

  2. Install doors, windows, and temporary plywood covers for other openings, in order to close in both buildings.

  3. Fencing material should be stored inside the buildings

  4. Supply and install, at the beginning of the access road, one (1) farm type gate, 14 feet wide, with two wooden posts.

It is requested that you provide this office in writing, as soon as possible, with a detailed breakdown of the cancellation charges that will result, due to the termination of the work.

We respectfully request your full cooperation in the closing out of this contract as quickly and as economically as possible.
