F/O JL Robinson was a pilot with 422 Squadron at 4 (F) Wing, Baden Germany. He was killed when his aircraft (Sabre 23396) was involved in a mid-air collision with F/O Van Oene (Sabre #23514 - non-fatal) and crashed near Stuttgart in West Germany.

12 June 1957 - 421 Squadron had another unfortunate accident today. F/O Van Oene had a mid-air collision while on a practice Zulu intercept. Van Oene bailed out successfully and suffered only a cut forehead. The pilot from 4 Wing was killed.
