F/O RJ Chalmers was a pilot with 444 Squadron at 4 (F) Wing, Baden Germany. He was killed when his aircraft (Sabre 23601) exploded during a high speed pass over the base.

Additional Comments - Warren Funnell

I went to school with Jerry in 1951-1953. He loved to go to the airport and beg for flying time. His father wanted him to go into the family Air Conditioning and Heating business. Around 1957 Jerry decided to have the RCAF pay for his gas and supply a plane for him to fly. I was proud to hear he was able to do this. He died somewhere in Germany when his engine flamed out and his chute did not open on 21 December 1959.
