Delivered to Groom Lake on 13 January 1956. Used for training flights until sent on the initial Det A deployment to the UK in late April 1956. This aircraft operated from Lakenheath England and Wiesbaden West Germany before it crashed on 17 September 1956 during a climb-out, killing CIA pilot Howard Carey.
