It should be emphasized that this detail is limited to appointments within the Weapons Controller field.

The USAF awarded their AWC Wing in 1972 and the Canadian Forces allowed the acceptance of this award. The award was presented at a ceremony in the Pentagon. To the best of our knowledge Gordon was the only RCAF/CAF person to have a permanent set for quite some time.
