6 TACC ceased to be a separate unit on 1 Oct when it amalgumated with the COC and took on the name of the latter.


The following detail has been extracted from Appendix "B" (Organization and Management) to the Historical Narrative, 1 Air Division Headquarters, Period from 1 Jun 59 to 30 Nov 59.

Oct 59

The physical amalgamation of 6 TACC and the small COC Section in Air Division HQ was effected in Sep 59; the combined sections were designated 1 Air Div COC. This was done prior to Exercise Side Step for trial purposes. The results of Side Step proved the new COC satisfactory. Air Force Headquarters Org Order 4.11 dated 4 Nov 59 approved the organization which makes the COC a part of the Air Div HQ organization (1 Air Div COC). The Officer Commanding this unit is known as the Director COC (D/COC).
