L'Ouvrage d'Ars – Assorted Sources

The RCAF made extensive use of the facilities at L'Ouvrage d'Ars. We have managed to obtain some detail from Historical Reports which were obtained from the National Archives of Canada, and this information has been added to this part of the web site.

It is understood that L'Ouvrage d'Ars was used by the RCAF Combat Operations Center (COC), as well as other sections such as Intelligence, 601 Telecom Squadron, a switchboard and even a small Mess Hall.

Your assistance in enhancing this part of the web site would be greatly appreciated.

    During the year SOCT&I Section completed the retrenchment which was begun in the autumn of 1965. Additionally, day to day operations of the COC were removed from the operations room of the d'Ars Bunker to the Chateau, and the operations centre in the War Headquarters was used only during exercises - 31 December 1966.

    The Distributing Authority (DA) Vault and office were moved from D'Ars Bunker to the basement of the Chateau. - 30 April 1966
