Thirteen Initial Nuclear Defence Courses for a total of 122 persons were conducted.

5 Jun 62

LAW LA Davis obtained the high aggregate in the Air Division Track and Field Meet held at 2 (F) Wing.

18 Jun 62

A Guard of Honour was mounted for A/V/M WA Orr, Air Member for Personnel, AFHQ.

19 Jun 62

A/V/M Orr visited the site of the new High School, the PMQ area and Fort d’Ars

28 Jun 62

Colonel GB Shillington, Deputy Director General of Dental Services visited the facilities of the Unit.

15 Aug 62

A Guard of Honour was mounted for Air Marshal CR Dunlap, Chief of the Air Staff Designate. Air Marshal Dunlap presented the Clasp to the Canadian Forces Decoration to the AOC, A/V/M LE Wray.

8 Sep 62

LAC S Laliberte was killed in a PMC accident. He was buried at Choloy RCAF Cemetery - Section 7 Row G Grave 1.

16 Sep 62

Battle of Britain Parade was held on the Unit. A/C DAR Bradshaw was reviewing officer. After the parade services were held in respective chapels.

16 Oct 62

Airmen’s semi-annual trade examination was held. Eighty six candidates were eligible, 49 candidates declined writing, 7 were deferred and 30 candidates attempted the examination.

18 Oct 62

In observance of the tenth Anniversary of 1 Air Division in Europe, the CO SU attended wreath laying services at Choloy.

19 Oct 62

The Tenth Anniversary Parade was held on the Unit. Celebrations were held in respective messes during the evening.

11 Nov 62

The Remembrance Day Parade was held on the Unit. The Parade was reviewed by A/V/M GJ Kerr CBE AFC CD. Services were held in the respective chapels following the parade.

14 Nov 62

A power failure occurred on the Unit requiring six days to restore electrical facilities to normal. Diesel energizers were used as a supplement. The underground cable from Building 31 to Sub Station Building 3 was replaced eventually by contractor and CE resources.

30 Nov 62

Approximately 200 tons of personal baggage was processed for shipment to Canada from 1 Jun to 30 Nov. Another 300,000 lbs. of Air Force Stores were handled in the same period. At the peak period for transfers, approximately 10 tons of baggage were processed daily. Ten vehicle accidents were recorded and 335,569 miles were driven by MSE during the period 1 Jun 62 to 30 Nov 62.
