Appendix "A" – Responsibilities of RCAF Support Unit to lodger units.

There are inherent difficulties in the operation of 1 Air Division Administrative Unit as it is now constituted, wherein they are performing the function of a station headquarters in providing for the Air Division HQ, 61 AC&W Squadron and the Integrated Staffs at joint formations. It is considered that the number and size of the lodger units in the Metz area now warrant the creation of an independent, self-accounting unit to administer their housekeeping requirements.

To form RCAF Support Unit, RCAF, Metz, France.

The provisions of this order are to become effective 1 Jan 56.

The officer appointed to command RCAF Support Unit is to be the Commanding Officer as defined by QR (Air) art 1.02 (xxi) (a) (iii).

Control of this unit is to be exercised by the AOC, 1 Air Division, RCAF.

The role of the unit is to provide administrative, accounting and technical services for the following lodger units:

Administrative Arrangements

Establishment code 110 CA 125 is to become effective 1 Jan 56.

The transfer and posting of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and 1 Air Division HQ.

This unit is to be self accounting for pay and materiel.

Expenditures are to be changed to Vote 600.

Treasury services will be provided by:

For purposes of QR (Air) art 205.30 and AFAO F5.30 this unit is not designated as a flying unit.

The provision of materiel is to be arranged by the AOC 1 Air Division, RCAF, in accordance with CAP 16 Vol. 1.

Accommodation and messing are to be arranged by the AOC 1 Air Division, RCAF.

The provision of medical, dental, postal and chaplaincy services is to be arranged by AOC, 1 Air Division, RCAF.
