Mr. R Lavergne, Superintendent of Administration at Ottawa, Mr. AA Smith, Director of Education, Ottawa, and G/C GE Emond, DPA/AFHQ, visited the Junior and Senior Schools on the Unit.

9 Dec 61

The CBC Show , "Hits and Mistletoe" with Emcee Gordie Tapp entertained the personnel on the unit.

Renovations to the Dental Clinic resulted in two separate operating bays and installation of a new dental unit.

23 – 24 Jan 61

A/C Msgr. LA Costello, Chaplain General RC, Canadian Armed Forces, visited the Unit. A service was held in the RC Chapel and a social gathering was held following the service.

28 Feb 62

The Air Division HQ and SU rink skipped by Sgt. JM Roberts placed third in the Annual Air Division Curling Bonspiel. The Single Side Band voice and RTT circuit to Decimomannu was officially opened by A/V/M LE Wray.

New X-ray unit installed in the Dental Clinic.

16 May 62

G/C ES Light, Director of Religious Administration, Protestant, The Right Rev HR Ragg (Former Anglican Bishop of Calgary) and Mrs. Ragg, along with Rev Sneyd, Representative of the Canadian Council of Churches visited the Unit. Bushop Ragg conducted a two hour "Quiet Day" meditation for all Chap (P) of 1 Air Division in the Chapel. Bishop Ragg conducted a Confirmation Service in the Chapel during the evening.

17 May 62

A Guard of Honour was mounted for A/M Hugh Campbell, Chief of the Air Staff. A reception was held in his honor during the evening in the Officers Mess.

CFN Headquarters was completed and network control taken over.

22 – 23 May 62

The Annual AOC’s Inspection took place with A/C DAR Bradshaw inspecting officer. G/C Ledoux and S/L JW Smith were also part of the inspecting party. A Unit Parade was held 22 May and then an inspection of the station was carried out.
