    The photo was taken near the town of Hamlin, so I re-created the story of the "Pied-Piper of Hamlin" with a bunch of local German kids.

  24. The gang at a small French pub in Grigy which was half way between the Chateau de Mercy and Metz - May 1956.
    Far left - Paul Albert, owner of the Cafe Louis Albert. At far right is LAC Gus Carter. The Cafe Albert was a popular watering hole for the crews from the Chateau. Paul left his restaurant open for the evening shift crews. His menu consisted of: "sandwich au jambon", "poulet frit", "steak", "pommes frites" and "salade". Paul's wife, Alberte, was also well known as she also worked at the cafe.
