APPENDIX: "A" - Details of Instruction

INFORMATION

Recent changes in the RCAF Auxiliary organization effected to improve control of Auxiliary units necessitate numerous amendments to existing organization orders. For the sake of clarity and ease of reference, therefore, it has been decided to re-issue such orders.

INTENTION

To rewrite the OrgO for 2450 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron (Auxiliary) (2450 AC&W Sqn (Aux))

EXECUTION

Effective Date

The provisions of this order are to become effective 15 Mar 57.

Role

The role of this Sqn is to:

1. Train reserve personnel in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations.

2. Maintain and operate radar and communications facilities as directed by the AOC ADC.

Command

The officer appointed to command 2450 ACW Sqn (Aux) is to be the Commanding Officer of this squadron as defined by QR (Air) art 1.02 (xxi) (a) (iii).

Control

Control of this squadron is to be exercised by the AOC ADC through the CO 11 Wg HQ (Aux) .

ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS

Establishment

Establishment codes 120 GG 623 and 220 GG 623 are to remain in effect.

Personnel

The transfer or posting of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and the ADC HQ.

Accounting

Pay and equipment accounting is to be arranged by the AOC ADC and these services are to be provided by the CO RCAF Stn St Hubert.

Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600, except pay and allowances and travel and transportation of Reserve personnel which are to be charged to Vote 601.

For the purpose of QR (Air) art 204.40 this Sqn is not designated as a flying unit.

Supply

The provision of materiel is to be arranged by the AOsC AMC and ADC in accordance with CAP 16 Vol 1 and this materiel is to be issued by the CO RCAF Stn St Hubert.

Accommodation and Messing

Accommodation and Messing are to be arranged by the AOC ADC.

Medical, Dental and Chaplaincy Services

Medical, dental and chaplaincy services are to be arranged by the AOC ADC.
