Trade tests carried out.

RTTP (B) training commenced with 73 trainees. Radar PC, Com PC, and FtrCOp, the only trades that will be taught.

3 Jul 54

32 Officers and other ranks attend summer camp at St Margarets NB from 3 Jul to 18 Jul 54.

31 Aug 54

RTTP (B) training terminated. 13 airmen were released during the month, being unsuitable or undesirable. 60 wrote trade tests. Results of tests: 36 out of 60 were successful and achieved Group 1. 12 failed and were discharged; 12 failed and are still with the Auxiliary hoping to pass their trade test in December, 12 transferred to the Auxiliary. The remaining 24 are still to be contacted to determine their intentions for the future.

Fall training commenced.

S/L FW McCrea relinquishes command of Squadron. S/L GW O'Boyle assumes command.

30 Sep 54

F/O JE Beland, regular force support officer reported in, replacing F/O CS Walker who is being released from the RCAF.

2 Oct 54

Testimonial dinner held for the retiring CO, S/L McCrea.

16 - 17 Oct 54

28 Officers and other ranks attended week-end training at Lac St Denis. 4 live intercepts carried out.

7 Nov 54

Squadron attended Armistice Day parade and church service along with other military units in the city. 76 Officers and other ranks attended the parade.

20 Nov 54

42 Officers and other ranks attended week-end training at Lac St Denis. No live intercepts due to bad flying weather. Training confined to lectures, films and normal AC&W operations. Three Officers liasoned with 401 (F) and 438 (F) Sqns at St Hubert.
