15 Jun 57

Annual inspection and changeover of Command. S/L GW O'Boyle relinquishes command of Squadron. S/L JAH Cameron assumes command. Annual Mess dinner held in the New Sherbrooke Hotel with W/C Lawrence as guest speaker.

F/O Beland, RSO, received promotion to the substantive rank of F/L, effective 1 Jul 57.

2 Jul 57

RTTP training commenced with 64 FtrCOps and five Clk Typs.

15 Aug 57

F/O R Torseth reported this unit, from Stn Parent, to assume RSOs duties due to F/L Beland's transfer to Stn Moisie.

20 Aug 57

F/L SS Hassey visited the squadron to discuss current RTTP training problems.

22 Aug 57

S/L Levesque visited the Unit to observe the RTTP training in progress.

26 Aug 57

Fifty-one FtrCOps and five ClkTyps attempted the Gp 1 Trade Examination RTTP.

F/L MacKinnon and FS McPherson from CEO visited the Unit to discuss repairs to be made to the building.

29 Aug 57

Trade Examination results were received revealing that 41 FtrCOps and no ClkTyps had been successful. A graduation inspection was held at the Belvedere St Armory and parents of the students later visited the squadron and were given a tour of the building.

9 Sep 57

Auxiliary training commenced. F/L Humphrey resumed position of C Train O, F/L Baldwin - COpsO and F/L G Smith - Chief Instructor.

15 Sep 57

A Battle of Britain Parade in commemoration of the Battle of Britain was held from the Unit to St Andrews Church and the Church of the Precious Blood. S/L McCrea (retired) took the salute during the march past.

16 Sep 57

S/L ER Sarty visited the Squadron to assist in organizing winter training program.

23 Sep 57

F/O CJ Strong CD and LAC Lepage visited the squadron to assist in the Account Section Audit Board.

25 Sep 57

S/L R Pook from CE Section St Hubert visited the Unit to meet the staff and inspect the building.

S/L Legace from the Recruiting Unit in Montreal made an informal visit to the Squadron while on other business in the area.

28 Oct 57

F/L FD Williams of the SOAF Branch at ADC visited the squadron on SOAF inspection.

F/L Humphrey relinquished C Train O position upon transfer to Montreal area. His duties were assumed by F/L AW Tinmouth.

3 Nov 57

Eighteen airmen attempted Trade Examinations.

During this term Officers and Airmen travelled to St Sylvestre on five weekends for contact training with Regular Force personel. Senior controllers may now avail themselves of advanced training COC at St Hubert, and four of our seven Phase 3 Controllers have already begun this training.
