INTERNATIONAL AIR FORCES NIGHT

The first International Air Forces Night held between the Officers of the United States Air Forces and the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Detroit-Windsor area has been organized for the evening of June 24, 1960, in Windsor, Ontario at the Elmwood Casino.
This affair has been planned as a pre-festival activity of the Freedom Festival which is held annually between the Cities of Detroit and Windsor. The date of the Festival this year is June 25 to July 4, and this will be the kick-off for the celebrations between the two cities.
Six hundred Officers of both Air Forces are expected to attend this first annual affair and hear our guest speaker, The Honourable Pierre Sevigny, MP, Associate Minister of National Defence for Canada.
Next year it is planned to hold this affair in Detroit and thereafter alternately in each country.

This floor show is a Broadway Musical Comedy with a cast of 25 featuring "La Femme de Paris".
When the floor show is finished, the officers will then proceed to the Officers Mess, 2451 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron, RCAF, the host unit for the evening. This headquarters is located at 437 Erie Street East, in Windsor, Ontario. The Commanding Officer is Squadron Leader Robert Norwood RCAF, Honourary Chairman of the International Air Forces Night Committee, set up to organize this affair.
Captain Frank G Reynolds, US Navy, Commanding Officer US Naval Air Station Grosse Ile, Michigan, will act as Chairman and Toastmaster at the first annual International Air Forces Night which will be held in Windsor, Ont, June 24th 1960. This affair has been planned as a pre-festival activity of the Freedom Festival and the first get-together of the Officers of the United States Air Forces and the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Detroit-Windsor area. Six hundred officers are expected to attend.
The Honourable Pierre Sevigny, MP, Associate Minister of National Defence for Canada, will be Guest Speaker at the first annual International Air Forces Night, to be held in Windsor, Ontario, June 24th, 1960. Mr. Sevigny has an impressive war record, lost a leg during the Battle of the Rhine in World War Two. He received Poland's highest award, the Virtuiti Militari, and both the French and Belgian Croix de Guerre. He wrote the book "Face L'ennemi" (confronting the Enemy) a soldier's story in battle, while learning to walk with an arificial leg.
