2451 AC&W Sqn (Aux)

Our Regular Support Officer F/O MG Anthony was promoted to the rank of F/L effective 1 Jul.

The RTTP Phase II training commenced on 2 Jul with 80 FtrCOp and 10 Clktyp trainees on parade. Instructors were obtained from the Regular Support Staff and Auxiliary Officers of this unit and A/Cpl LK Kyer from Stn Parent. The results of the program were: 77 FtrCOp passed, 3 were CT'd, and none failed. Five ClkTyps passed, two were CT'd and three failed.

Summer Camp training was from 13 Jul to 27 Jul. The training was enthusiastically received by all ranks. A Sports Day was held which included a Tug of War, and a Soap Box Car Race.

The first parade after Summer Camp was held on 8 Sep.

On 21 Sep this unit along with the two Air Cadet Sqns held a Battle of Britain Memorial Day Parade. This parade had the pleasure of marching to the music of the Training Command Band. A Memorial Service was held at the Cenotaph.

The Remembrance Day Parade was held on 9 Nov. A/C J Stevenson placed this unit's wreath at the Cenotaph, and took the salute on the March Past.

A Mess Dinner was held on 28 Nov. A/C Sir James Easton who is a member of the Mess was the guest speaker.
