"A" - Details of Instruction attached.
INFORMATION
Plans for the continuous operation of aircraft control and aircraft warning sqns call for the use of trained auxiliary force personnel. This scheme necessitates the formation of aircraft control and warning units (auxiliary) as the training medium for these reserve personnel.
In accordance with this procedure for preparedness, it has been decided that a type "A" Aircraft Control And Warning Sqn (Auxiliary) should be formed at Windsor, Ont.
INTENTION
To form 2451 Aircraft Control and Warning Sqn (AC&W Sqn) (Auxiliary) RCAF at Windsor, Ont.
EXECUTION
Effective Date
2451 AC&W Sqn (Aux) is to form eff 4 Jan 54.
Role
The role of this Sqn is to:
Command
The officer appointed to command 2451 AC&W Sqn (Aux) is to be the Commanding Officer as defined by QR(Air) Art 1.02 (xxi)(a)(iii).
Control
Control of this Sqn is to be exercised by the AOC ADC.
ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS
Establishment
Establishment codes 120 BE 691 and 220 BE 691 are to become eff 4 Jan 54.
Personnel
The transfer or posting or both of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and ADCHQ.
Accounting
Pay and materiel accounting are to be provided by the CO RCAF Station, London.
Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600, except pay and allowances, and travel and transportation expenses, for auxiliary force personnel which are to be charged to Vote 601.
For purposes of QR(Air) Art 205.30 and AFAO F5.30, this Sqn is not designated a flying unit.
Supply
The provision of material is to be arranged by the AOsC ADC and AMC, and such items are to be issued by the CO RCAF Station London.
Accommodation and Messing
Working and domestic accommodation and messing are to be arranged for by the AOC ADC.
INTERCOMMUNICATION
Mailing Address
ADCHQ is to advise AFHQ of the mailing address for this Sqn as soon as suitable accommodation has been obtained.
