2452 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Reserve)

INFORMATION
To provide a force of trained personnel who will be available to augment, in an emergency, the operation of the Regular Aircraft Control and Warning Units (ACWU's) on a 24 hours basis, the Plan for the RCAF Reserve calls for the formation of Reserve ACWU's Class "A" and Class "B".
It has been decided that the detachment of 1 R&CU located at Quebec, PQ will be organized as 2452 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res) Class"A".
INTENTION
To form 2452 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res), Quebec City, PQ.
EXECUTION
Effective Date
2452 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res) is to form 15 Apr 51.
Functions
To train reserve personnel in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations.
To maintain and operate radar and communications facilites as directed by the Gp Cdr, RCAF Res Gp, Montreal.
Command
The officer appointed to command 2452 ACWU (Res) is to be the Commanding Officer as defined by KR (Air) para 2 (XV).
Control
Functional and administrative control is to be exercised by the Gp Cdr, RCAF Res Gp Montreal, through the CO RCAF Res Operational Wing HQ, Montreal.
ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS
Establishment
Establishment R101 ACWA and 6139 2452 are to become effective 15 Apr 51.
Personnel
The transfer of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and by the Gp Cdr, ADGp Montreal.
Equipment & Supplies
The provision of equipment and supplies is to be arranged by the CO, RCAF Administrative Wing Hq, Montreal.
Accounting
Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600, except pay and allowances and travel and transportation of Reserve personnel which are to be charged to Vote 601.
Pay and equipment accounting is to be carried out by the CO, RCAF Administrative Wing HQ, Montreal.
Accommodation
Working and domestic accommodation is to be provided by the Gp Cdr, ADGp through the Cp Cdr RCAF Res Gp Montreal.
