Air Commodore DE MacKell, RCAF Benevolent Fund Manager, visited 2452 and was received by S/L G Taschereau, CO 2452; W/C EL Baudoux, DSO, DFC, CD, CO CARDE; F/L P Tousignant, CD; and F/L G Demers, CO RU, Quebec.

Issue received of the Canadian Weekend Airman carrying the history of 2452.

Summer Camp period at RCAF Station Mont Apica. 18 Officers and 30 other ranks attended.

22 Aug 56

F/L JJ Beaudet, F/L LPMR Cote, F/L HM Frew, F/L JGA Goudreault, F/L JE Goulet, F/L JAG Tremblay, F/O JAM Carrier and F/O JMPH Gingras were DROed as having successfully completed the Fighter Controller Course. The latter Officer's promulgation was effective 26 May, 1956.

G/C JADB Richer, DFC, CD, inspected the RTTP in the Drill Hall on Grande Allee and awarded certificates to 48 cadets.

A gathering in the Officers Mess as a farewell to F/L PE Bauset (to Montreal) and P/O R Lesage (to Toronto).

Special drill parade preparatory to Battle of Britain Parade.

2452 AC&W Sqn paraded at the Cross of Sacrifice at 1500 hours to be inspected by the Governor General, His Excellency, the Right Honourable Vincent Massey. Other detachments were from St Sylvestre, CARDE, CEPE, Air Cadets from Drummondville and members of the RCAF Association. Seven wreaths were laid after a brief ceremony. The band of the Royal Rifles of Canada led the parade in the march past.

The Unit was visited by W/C EC Breise CD from ADC with other officers.

20 Oct 56

A dining-in night was held at the Chateau Bonne Entente at which 104 persons were in attendance. G/C & Mrs JADB Richer, DFC, CD; W/C & Mrs Dupuis CD, St Sylvestre; W/C & Mrs Snyder, CO RCAF Mont Apica were among the honoured guests.

During the month some 14 officers from Kent House and later from Camp Valcartier visited the Unit, while attending the Current Affair Courses. Other visitors from No 1 Group included F/O Hill, Telecom & F/O Laurin SOGT.

25 Nov 56

Special mock exercise at RCAF Mont Apica. 12 Officers, 15 airmen and 8 airwomen attended from 2452. Members of the Press included Quebec Le Soleil, L'Action Catholique, Chronicle Telegraph, La Tribune de Levis, Sillery L'Appel, Le Courier de Limoilou, Canadian Press.
