2455 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Aux) Victoria, BC.
1 June 1960 to 30 November 1960

The Squadron officially came into being on 16 Feb 51. The Squadron funtion is to train ASFtrCs and FtrCOp personnel to a skill level which would permit their being employed at Regular Force AC&W sites in the event of hostilities. The first HQ for the Squadron was in the old RCAF Recruitment Centre at 1315 Government Street where the Squadron remained until 1 Sept 1951 when it moved to Balmoral Building on Douglas St. Permanent Sqn HQ was officially opened by His Honour the Lieutenant Governor on 21 May 1954. The new Urban Centre at 865 Yates Street formerly the Begg Motor Building was renovated to Squadron requirements.

Squadron stood down for summer months.

19 Jun - 28 Aug 60

Summer Training of Sqn personnel took place at 857 Sqn (USAF) Kamloops, and Station Comox, VI.

26 Aug 60

35 members of RTTP graduated, these personnel were trained under F/L O'Neill, Support Officer of this Unit, on a full time basis during July and August.

8 Sep 60

Sqn stood to after summer recess.

18 Sep 60

Sqn made public appearance for "Battle of Britain". Church services preceeded parade. Sqn Band was in Attendance.

19 Sep 60

S/L Ascott, CO this Unit, called Muster Parade to inform Sqn personnel of proposed disbandment of the Squadron.

11 Nov 60

Sqn paraded through downtown area with other Militia Units for Remembrance Day ceremonies. Sqn Band was in attendance.
