INFORMATION

In accordance with a decision to assign a new role to RCAF Auxiliary Sqns, it has been found desirable to carry out a general reorganizatio of the RCAF Auxiliary. Under this new concept the Auxiliary Wing Headquarters will be controlling a transport, rather than an air defence, type of activity. However since the functions of the AC&W Sqns (Aux) will continue to be homogeneous with the functions of ADC, it has been decided that these sqns will in future report directly to 5 Air Div or ADCHQ as applicable. In view of these changes it is necessary to restate the organization of 2455 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron (Auxiliary) (2455 AC&W Sqn (Aux))

INTENTION

To restate the organization for 2455 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron (Auxiliary) RCAF (2455 AC&W Sqn (Aux))

EXECUTION

Effective Date

The provisions of this order shall become effective 1 Sep 58.

Role

The role of this Sqn shall be:

1. to train Auxiliary Force Personnel in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations;

2. to maintain and operate radar and communications facilities as directed by the AOC ADC.

Command

The officer appointed to command 2455 AC&W Sqn (Aux)shall be the Commanding Officer of this Sqn as defined by QR (Air) art 1.02(xxi)(a)(iii).

Control

Control of this Sqn shall be exercised by the AOC ADC through the Cdr 5 Air Div.

ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS

Establishment

Establishment codes 121 AU 643 and 221 AU 643 shall remain in effect.

Personnel

The transfer or posting of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and ADCHQ.

Accounting

Pay and materiel accounting shall be arranged by the AOC ADC and these services are to be provided by the CO RCAF Stn Sea Island.

For purposes of QR (Air) art 205.35 and AFAO F5.30 this Sqn shall not designated as a flying unit.

Supply

The provision of materiel shall be arranged by the AOsC ADC and AMC in accordance with CAP 16 Vol 1 and this materiel is to be issued by the CO RCAF Stn Sea Island.

Construction Engineering

Construction Engineering services shall be arranged by the AOC ADC and shall be provided by the CO RCAF Stn Sea Island.

Accommodation and Messing

Accommodation and messing shall be arranged by the AOC ADC.

Medical, Dental and Chaplaincy Services

Medical, dental and chaplaincy services shall be arranged by the AOC ADC.
