INFORMATION

It has been decided that Air Defence Command will assume control of all reserve activities in Ontario with the exception of reserve University flights which will remain a Training Command responsibility. As a consequence, it is also necessary that the Reserve Group HQ at Toronto, and Stations Toronto and Hamilton will be allocated to ADC, but will continue to function in their present capacities. This decision to re-organize the Reserve does not alter Training Command's responsibility for the formulation of training policies and plans (excluding operational training) in accordance with Air Force policy as it effects Regular and Reserve Personnel.

INTENTION

To transfer control of 2400 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res), Toronto, On from AOC TC to AOC ADC.

EXECUTION

Effective Date

2400 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res) is to be allocated to ADC effective 1 Aug 51.

Functions

To train reserve personnel in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations.

To maintain and operate radar and communications facilities as directed by the AOC ADC.

Command

The Officer appointed to command 2400 ACWU (Res) is to be the Commanding Officer as defined by KR (Air) para 2 (XV).

Control

Functional and administrative control is to be exercised by the Gp Cdr 2 Gp HQ RCAF Res Toronto, the CO RCAF Reserve Operational Wing HQ, Toronto.

ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS

Establishment

Establishments R101 ACWA and 4704 2400 became effective 1 Apr 51.

Personnel

The transfer of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and ADC HQ.

Equipment and Supplies

The provision of equipment and supplies is to be arranged by the AOC ADC and AOC AMC in accordance with CAP 16 Vol 1.

Accounting

Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600 except pay and allowances, travel and transportation expenses for Reserve Personnel which are to be charged to Vote 601.

Pay and equipment accounting is to be carried out by RCAF Station Toronto.

Accommodation

For purposes of KR(Vol III) Art 205-30 and AFAC F530 this unit is not designated a flying unit.

Amendment

Paras 4 and 5 - Delete paras 4 and 5 and insert new paras 4 and 5 to read:

"Role

5 To maintain and operate radar and communications facilities as directed by the AOC ADC".

Because of the change in the establishment coding system, at Para 8 delete "R 101 ACWA and 4704 2400" and insert "120 AN 625 and 220 AN 625".
