CO's parade and presentation of CO's quarterly (Oct/Dec) proficiency shield to #2 Flight.

ADC Ground training conference at St Hubert, S/L Lasek, F/L Lawrence and F/L Illingworth represented 2400 Sqn.

Second edition of unit newsletter "The Bird Watcher" is issued.

#2 flight winners of quarterly (Oct/Dec) proficiency competition flew to Niagara Falls (S/L Lasek pilot).

Final Part 1 Controllers Exam. 35 out of 36 passed with average mark of 77, a record for all Auxiliary units.

24 - 26 Apr 53

Operation "Damp Feet" - escape and evasion exercise, 2400 Sqn made a 100% break through, the only unit in the exercise to do so.

29 Apr 53

S/L Illingworth presented CO's quarterly (Jan/Mar) shield to #2 Flight.

#2 Flight winners of quarterly (Jan/Mar) proficiency competition flew to Edgar (S/L Lasek pilot).

22 May 53

Farewell parade for S/L lasek.

2 Jun 53

Flight took part in Coronation Parade.

Trade advancement exams were taken by NCO's, airmen and airwomen during the six month period. Practical training was carried out at Downsview airport using the AMES 11C convoy. 400 and 411 (F) Squadrons were used as interceptor aircraft. 69 successful intercepts were completed.
