INFORMATION

It has been decided to disband 1 Radar and Communications Unit (Auxiliary) (1 R&CU (Aux)).

INTENTION

To rewrite the OrgO for 2401 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron (Auxiliary) RCAF, (2401 AC&W Sqn (Aux)).

EXECUTION

Effective Date

The provisions of this order are to become effective 3 Jan 56.

Role

The role of this sqn is:

1. to train Auxiliary personnel, including those in the trade of Fighter Controller and Fighter Control Operator in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations;

2. to maintain and operate radar and communications facilities as directed by the AOC ADC.

3. to train Auxiliary and Primary Reserve Force personnel in the telecommunications operations and maintenance trades, in accordance with the details of instruction in Appendix "A" and approved syllabi.

Command

The officer appointed to command 2401 AC&W Sqn (Aux) is to be the Commanding Officer as defined by QR (Air) art 1.02 (xxi)(a)(iii).

Control

Control of this Sqn is to be exercised by the AOC ADC, through the GpCdr 1 Gp (Aux) and the CO 11 WgHQ (Aux)

ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS

Establishment

Establishment codes 120 AO 611 and 220 AO 611 as amended are to become effective 3 Jan 56.

Personnel

The transfer or posting of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and ADC HQ.

Accounting

Pay and materiel accounting is to be arranged by AOC ADC and these services are to be provided by the 1 GpHQ (Aux) Admin Unit.

Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600, except pay and allowances and travel and transportation of Auxiliary personnel which are to be charged to Vote 601.

For purposes of QR (Air) art 205.30 and AFAO F5.30 this sqn is not designated as a flying unit.

Supply

The provision of materiel is to be arranged by the AOsC ADC and AMC in accordance with CAP 16 Vol 1 and this materiel is to be issued by 1 GpHQ (Aux) Admin Unit.

Accommodation and Messing

Accommodation and messing are to be arranged by AOC ADC.

Medical, Dental and Chaplaincy Services

Medical, dental and chaplaincy services are to be arranged by the AOC ADC.
