INFORMATION

In accordance with a decision to assign a new role to RCAF Auxiliary Sqns, it has been found desirable to carry out a general re-organization of the RCAF Auxiliary. Under this new concept the Auxiliary Wing Headquarters will be controlling a transport, rather than an air defence, type of activity. However, since the functions of the AC&W Sqns (Aux) will continue to be homogeneous with the functions of ADC, it has been decided that these sqns will in future report directly to ADCHQ. In view of these changes it is necessary to restate the organization of 2401 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron (Auxiliary) (2401 AC&W Sqn (Aux)).

INTENTION

To restate the organization for 2401 AC&W Sqn (Aux).

EXECUTION

Effective Date

The provisions of this order shall become effective 1 Oct 58.

Role

The role of this sqn shall be:

1. to train Auxiliary Force personnel in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations;

2. to maintain and operate radar and communications facilities as directed by the AOC ADC.

Command

The officer appointed to command 2401 AC&W Sqn (Aux) shall be the Commanding Officer as defined by QR (Air) art 1.02 (xxi)(a)(iii).

Control

Control of this Sqn is to be exercised by the AOC ADC, through the CO 11 WgHQ (Aux)

ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS

Establishment

Establishment codes 120 AO 611 and 220 AO 611 shall remain in effect.

Personnel

The transfer or posting of personnel shall be arranged by AFHQ and ADC HQ.

Accounting

Pay and materiel accounting shall be arranged by AOC ADC and these services shall be provided by the CO RCAF Stn St Hubert.

For purposes of QR (Air) art 205.35 this sqn shall not bedesignated as a flying unit.

Supply

The provision of materiel shall be arranged by the AOsC ADC and AMC in accordance with CAP 16 Vol 1 and this materiel shall be issued by the CO RCAF Stn St Hubert.

Accommodation and Messing

Accommodation and messing shall be arranged by AOC ADC.

Medical, Dental and Chaplaincy Services

Medical, dental and chaplaincy services shall be arranged by the AOC ADC.
