Local training came to an end. During the months of July and August operational personnel will attend summer camp for further training, while the training of RTTP personnel will be carried on at 2401 AC&WS. In addition staff officers will continue to report to prepare for fall training.

2 Jul 58

RTTP training (Phase II) commenced, with 74 airmen reporting for training. The Commanding Officer for this phase was A/S/L Barrie WF 130371. Other officers were CAdO F/L Pitcairn A 203436, CTO F/O Gervais JP 123043, Sport & Drill F/O Sharp RD 130297.

Aug 58

The summer's RTTP programme carried out successfully under the leadership of the Commanding Officer, and the co-operation of Air Defence Command personnel.

26 Aug 58

All Airmen who wrote Trade Board examinations passed successfully.

31 Aug 58

44 RTTP personnel transferred from RCAF Primary Reserve (RTTP) to AC&WS for a period of 3 years non-continuous service. This is a most encouraging sign.

During the months of July and August 39 officers and 16 airmen attended summer camp at Lac St Denis.

9 Sep 58

Fall training commenced with a Commanding Officer Parade held at 438 F Sqn (Aux) Drill Hall.

20 Oct 58

F/O Abbott W taken on strength as Support Officer to replace F/L Cross RL.

24 Oct 58

F/L Cross, RL struck off strength on posting to Stn Edgar.

During the period 1 Jun to 30 Nov 58 extensive alterations were carried out in the Operations Room. It is unfortunate that the alterations were not completed by the beginning of the fall training but delay were apparently unavoidable. It would appear, however, that alterations will be completed shortly.
