2402 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Reserve)

INFORMATION
To provide a force of trained personnel who will be available to augment, in an emergency, the operation of the Regular Aircraft Control and Warning Units (ACWU's) on a 24 hours basis, the Plan for the RCAF Reserve calls for the formation of Reserve ACWU's Class "A" and Class "B".
It has been decided to form 2402 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res) at Winnipeg, Manitoba.
INTENTION
To form 2402 ACWU (Res), Winnipeg, Man. (Class "B").
EXECUTION
Effective Date
2402 ACWU (Res) is to form effective 1 Oct 50.
Functions
To train Reserve personnel in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations.
To maintain and operate radar and communications facilites as directed by the Group Commander Tactical Group.
Command
The officer appointed to command 2402 ACWU (Res) is to be, as defined in KR (Air) para 2 (xv), the Commanding Officer of this unit.
Control
Functional control is to be exercised by the AOC NWAC through the Gp Commander Tac Gp and CO Reserve Wing HQ, Winnipeg.
Administrative control is to be exercised by the AOC NWAC through the CO Reserve Wing HQ Winnipeg.
ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS
Establishment
The standard establishment for Class "B" Reserve ACWUs is to become effective 1 Oct 50.
Personnel
The transfer of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and AOC NWAC.
Equipment and Supplies
The provision of equipment and supplies is to be arranged by the AOC NWAC and AOC AMC in accordance with CAP 16, Vol 1.
Accounting
Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 601.
Pay and equipment accounting is to be carried out be RCAF Station Winnipeg.
Accommodation
Working and domestic accommodation is to be provided by the CO RCAF Stn Winnipeg.
