2402 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron (Auxiliary)

5 Nov 53INFORMATION
In accordance with the plan for the air defence of Canada, certain units now under the control of 1 Tactical Air Command are to assume an air defence role in the event of an emergency. In order that these units may prepare for that role, it has been decided that they should become part of the organization for the air defence of Canada now.
One of the units affected by this decision is 2402 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron (Auxiliary)RCAF, Winnipeg(2402 AC&W Sqn (Aux).
INTENTION
To transfer control of 2402 ACW Sqn (Aux) from the AOC 1 TAC to the AOC ADC.
EXECUTION
Effective Date
Transfer of control of 2402 AC&W Sqn (Aux) to the AOC ADC is to become effective 16 Nov 53.
Role
To train personnel of the RCAF Auxiliary in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations.
To maintain and operate radar and communications facilites as directed by the AOC ADC.
Command
The officer appointed to command 2402 ACW Sqn (Aux) is to be the Commanding Officer as defined in QR (Air) art 1.02 (xxi)(a)(iii).
Control
Control is to be exercised by the AOC ADC through the CO 17 Wing Headquarters (Auxiliary) Winnipeg.
The AOC ADC is to issue instructions requiring personnel of 2402 AC&W Sqn (Aux) to abide by station orders and regulations issued by the CO RCAF Station Winnipeg.
ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS
Establishment
Establishment codes 120 BB 653 and 220 BB 653 are to become effective 16 Nov 53
Personnel
The transfer or posting of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and ADC HQ.
Supply
The provision of materiel is to be arranged by the AOsC ADC and AMC in accordance with CAP 16, Vol 1.
Accounting
Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600, except pay and allowances and travel and transportation of Reserve personnel which are to be charged to Vote 601.
Pay and materiel accounting is to be provided by CO RCAF Station Winnipeg.
Risk Allowance
For purposes of QR (Air), art 205.30 and AFAO F5.30, this Sqn is not designated a flying unit.
Accommodation
Working and domestic accommodation is to be provided by the CO RCAF Stn Winnipeg.
Messing
Messing is to be provided by the CO RCAF Station Winnipeg.
